VR Tracking Head
CD15 / CD20

Performance Description of Virtual Tracking head
CD15/CD20 virtual tracking head is the supporting equipment for virtual tracking system. It is not only has the basic functions of ordinary fluid head but is also equipped with high-precision absolute angle sensors inside the head. The sensors have a precision of 19 bits and an angle resolution of 0.0007°. The absolute value sensors do not require repositioning upon startup, and maintain the original position data after a power loss, eliminating cumulative errors and making them more convenient and reliable to use. The head uses a more precise bubble level than ordinary head to prevent data drift.
In virtual tracking shoots, lens data is also essential besides pan/tilt. To obtain camera lens data, CD15/CD20 is equipped with lens sensors and a full servo lens data reading interface. For semi-servo lenses, DV cameras, DSLR lenses, and cinematic lenses, the lens sensors come with multiple sets of gears and mounts of different modulus. For CANON and FUJINON digital lenses, the system is equipped with dedicated data cables and interfaces.
Virtual Tracking head can also provide the server with the camera’s position data, i.e., the coordinates of the camera in the on-site coordinate system. The system’s menu and data entry functions support the redefinition of the coordinate axis, entry of the camera height value, setting of the head’s horizontal angle deviation, and input and adjustment of the coordinate values of the three axes. Combined with the “Conical Cross Positioning Method,” the position coordinates and horizontal angle of the head can be quickly and accurately determined.
It has a “GENLOCK” synchronization input port ,which allows the data packets sent to the server to be synchronized by the GENLOCK signal. When there is no GENLOCK input, it can automatically send at either 50Hz or 60Hz. The system allows for the free setting of camera ID values.
The data packets sent to computer by CD15/CD20 use the FreeD protocol and are available through both RS422 and network port outputs.
